2.2 Are FlashRES cables active cables?

Currently, there are two kinds of resistivity survey cables. One is called passive cable, another is called active cable. For passive cable, there are no electronic control parts in the cable, and all control and ADC are in the instrument. For active cable, it contains electronic parts in each electrode, which controls the current injection and ADC. The advantage of passive cable is that it can be put into water.

Our FlashRES resistivity meter cables are passive cables. Since all electronic control and ADC are in our instrument box, clients can use the cables for borehole, river, and sea surveys.
